The Cool Move Initiative (CMI) aims to promote the development of sustainable cold chain solutions in rural areas, based on bankable and scalable business models, via appropriate financial solutions backed by market linkages and data. Working with partners, the CMI will serve as a transition hub, providing expertise and technical assistance to other project sponsors, “connecting the dots” among currently isolated efforts. CMI will therefore not start ‘own projects’, but will organize capacity and technical resources in the ‘transition hub’ to work directly with project staff. In this way, it can make the linkage between centralized expertise and local action.
